Support at Home Delay – How it Will Impact You


On the back of the recent Australian Government announcement to delay the launch of the Support at Home program until November 2025, a number of other changes will be implemented instead.


The changes take effect from 1 July and will affect all new and existing clients, including price changes due to indexed wage increases for support workers, and service agreements will be re-adjusted once more to align with the delays.

To help clarify what the path to Support at Home looks like, here’s what you need to know now:

1. Disregard all previous document related to Support at Home

If you have received a Support at Home Acknowledgement Letter and Support at Home Pricing Schedule in May 2025, you’ll simply need to disregard them at this time.

These documents will no longer be applicable due to the program’s delay.

2. July 2025 Pricing Update

From 1 July 2025, pricing will be adjusted to reflect:

  • The Aged Care Worker CPI wage increase, and
  • Rising service delivery costs.

The Home Care pricing structure will remain unchanged, with Care Management and Package Management fees not changing at this time.

3. Income Tested Fee (ITF)

Anyone currently paying an Income Tested Fee (ITF), will continue as usual until 1 November 2025, as outlined in your letter from Services Australia.

After this date, the ITF will be replaced by the new Support at Home contribution model.

4. Already discussed Support at Home pricing with your Care Manager?

If you’ve already spoken with your Care Manager and given consent for the new Support at Home pricing, there’s no need to worry.

They will be in touch shortly to review the updated July pricing with you and answer any further question you may have.

5. Haven’t heard from Your Care Manager yet?

There’s no need for concern. Your Care Manager will be in touch soon to:

  • Review your current budget,
  • Explain the July pricing update, and
  • Ensure your needs continue to be fully supported until Support at Home begins.

As new information emerges from the government, we’ll continue to keep you informed.

Important Update: Support At Home Launch Delayed


Today, in a surprise move, the Australian Government announced the Support at Home program launch would be delayed until 1 November 2025, instead of going ahead as planned on  1 July.

The delay announcement comes just weeks before the initial planned launch, which understandably created more questions about what might happen now.

The good news is that with Age Up's systems, team training and preparation already completed, our team focus over the coming 24 hours and days ahead will be supporting all existing and new clients to better understand what lies ahead.

Importantly, we expect a smooth forward path with our dedicated Support at Home working group actively working to keep all informed and updated as information becomes available.

Our services will remain uninterrupted, and we will provide more details in the coming days about what to expect between now and 1 November.
